Elden was one of the top students I remember from North Dakota State University. His work in preservation does not surprise me. He valued and understood the meaning of history in architecture and held steadfast with courage to his preferences despite a faculty that held a strong belief in Modernism.
His work in energy conservation and design indicates a mature understanding of progress in the field and how can contribute to it.
