Crews demolished the Grand Motel in West Duluth on Monday. WDIO-TV reported that the site, at 4312 Grand Avenue near Denfeld High School, has been acquired by the adjacent Acme Tools store for an expansion of parking.And in Duluth’s Hillside, the Duluth Pawnbroker building at the corner of Fourth Street and Seventh Avenue East also was razed Monday. The brick building with a distinctive corner turret dated back to 1892, according to St. Louis County property records. There was no immediate word on what is planned next for that site.
