DPA Scholarship Program

The Duluth Preservation Alliance offers two scholarships each year for those who are interested in historic preservation and architectural heritage. To apply, students must send a transcript, a letter of recommendation and write three 250-word essays. All applications are due by June 1st of each year and will be awarded by July 15 of the same year. The scholarship must be used in the following school year.

$2,500 Scholarship
A $2,500 scholarship will be awarded to those students who apply – and are selected by the Duluth Preservation Alliance Board of Directors. Students must be in their second year (or later) of a bachelor or masters degree program in Community Planning, Historic Preservation, General History or Architecture at a 
school in Minnesota, Wisconsin or North Dakota. One applicant will be selected each year that the program is in operation.

$1,500 Scholarship
A $1,500 scholarship will be awarded to those students who apply – and are selected by the Duluth Preservation Alliance Board of Directors. Students must be in an associate degree or technical program related to the building trades at a school in St. Louis County. One applicant will be selected each year that the scholarship program is in operation.

All applicants must have their primary address in Duluth.
