The DPA presented its annual Preservation Awards May 15 at the Greysolen Plaza at 231 East Superior Street.
In just a year the owners scraped the outside cement and trim and painted to accent detailing, repaired a balcony and the driveway, replaced garage doors and landscaped. Inside they’ve removed mold, jacked up floors, removed broken radiators and installed a new heating system. They installed a 1st floor bath with period fixtures, and in the main bathroom they installed period-style flooring and wainscoting. In the kitchen they removed formica, uncovering original maple, repaired plaster, painted, and refinished floors throughout.
Work done included extensive tuck poinoting, cement work, removal of graffiti, landscaping, and replacement of lights paid for by Rotary Club 25
